50th Year Celebrations

Ravens celebrated our 50th year in July was a successful weekend that involved the golf day at Ryde Parramatta Golf Club on the Friday with 120 starters, ‘Back to Peel Park Day’ on the Saturday afternoon at Peel Park with special guests including Founding & Life Members who made a presentation to our Premier League players with retro playing strip from the first year of the club.

The 50th celebration night was held at Ryde Parramatta Golf Club followed the ‘Back to Peel Park Day’. We had in attendance 345 people from the many era’s of the club’s history from our first Patron Ray Wilson & Mike Cummings representing his father Jack others included Founding & Life Members, special guests from GHFA, NWSWFA, ERNA, Ryde Council Deputy Mayor Roy Maggio who all helped in the celebrations of the club.

A special presentation on the night was the long awaited recognition of the Patrons, Founding & Life Members of a glass Honour Board that was unveiled by Fae Clark wife of our first President Bob Clark.

The success of the 50th celebrations took many hours to organise over 8 months and I would like to personally acknowledge all those on the committee that contributed to that success. A special thanks to TWT our local newspaper who contributed a lot of exposure to the Ravens 50th, so to Chris Karras and Terry Townsend our thanks to you both.

Finally, to all the Club sponsor’s your contribution to the Club is very much appreciated over this year & the many others that have supported the Ravens over the last 50 years in the local sporting community.
